Deciding on a reading schedule is one of the most important steps in preparing for a year-long Bible study. Since my goal is to read daily, the math works out to about four chapters per day to finish the Bible in a year. But as I started planning, I realized not all chapters are the same—some are much longer or more complex than others.
After some research, I found a guide on BibleGateway.com that offers a reasonable and manageable structure. It breaks the readings into daily sections, balancing the flow of longer and shorter chapters. This will help keep the pace steady without overwhelming myself (or anyone reading along).
For this journey, I’ve decided to read the Bible from start to finish, Genesis to Revelation. While there are many ways to approach reading the Bible, I think this straightforward path is the best for building a strong understanding of recurring themes, definitions, and patterns that show up early and provide insight later on. It’s like following a story from beginning to end—it helps everything connect in a way that feels natural.
Whether you’re starting with me from the beginning, jumping in partway through, or just curious to see what we’re reading, I’ll be sharing my weekly reading schedule right here. Each week, I’ll post what chapters are being covered along with the full calendar of readings so you can stay on track or plan ahead.
If you’re reading along, feel free to adjust the pace if needed. Some weeks might be easier than others to keep up, and that’s okay—this isn’t about perfection but about steady progress and growth.
